Legal Design IRL: Episode 37 – Reimagine contracts through illustration
I’m Hannele Korhonen, founder of Lawyers Design School and host of Legal Design IRL.
Today we’re lucky to chat with Robert De Rooy, who’s doing trailblazing work with Comic Contracts, or illustrated contracts. Today we’ll challenge our thoughts on what’s possible with contracts and how we can ensure better outcomes for underserved people.
Introducing Robert De Rooy
Robert is a commercial lawyer practicing in Cape Town, South Africa, and the developer of Comic Contracts, the world’s first fully illustrated contract. He is the founder of Creative Contracts (Pty) Ltd.
The company’s purpose is to afford vulnerable people the dignity of autonomously understanding their legal contracts and other important information. He is also a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Vaasa, and he tries to balance his practice, business, studies, and family life with cycling and surfing.
You can find Robert on Linkedin.
