The Legal Design Summit is the largest Legal Design Event in the world – it’s back in 2023 and it’s free. It’s not just an event for Legal Design enthusiasts, it’s a movement that’s created a community of people committed to changing the mindset in law. It’s in Helsinki in September 2023, and tickets are limited. Because it is a not-for-profit event, we’re never sure if this year will be the last.
This week we welcome Pilvi Alopaeus as our guest on Legal Design Thinking IRL. Pilvi is a Privacy Counsel at Schibsted, a Podcast Co-host at the PrivacyPod, an ex-Googler, and a Builder of the Legal Design Summit, the largest legal design event in the world.
Pilvi was a crucial part of its birth in 2016 and led it to its success in 2017. And with a group of dedicated volunteers: Henna Tolvanen, Nina Toivonen, Jukka Linna, and Mika Viljanen. Legal Design Summit was re-founded in 2019 as a non-profit organisation with a more international flavour. Pilvi was the CEO of the Summit for six years and now serves as a Board member supporting and guiding the new operation lead of the Summit taking the Summit to new levels.
